Delete your Spotco account

You can delete your account in the Spotco app at any time. If you cannot use the app, write to us and we will delete it for you.

The Spotco app on the App Store and Google Play is provided by Keshi Henkeshi Ile, Aleje Jerozolimskie 190C, 02-486 Warsaw, Poland.

In the app

  1. Open the Spotco app and tap your photo (or your initials) at the top left of Home, Discover or Chats. This opens Settings.
  2. Tap Privacy and safety.
  3. Near the bottom, tap Delete my account. The app shows what is deleted and what is kept.
  4. Tap Delete for good. Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out.

If the app shows Deal with these first instead, something still depends on you: see What can stop a deletion.

Without the app

If you cannot open the app, or you use Spotco only on the website, email privacy@spotco.app and ask us to delete your account. Please include:

  • The email address of your Spotco account. If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email, it is the address Apple made for Spotco: you can find it in your Apple Account settings, under Sign in with Apple.
  • Whether you organize an activity that has not started yet, or own a venue, and what you would like us to do about it (see below).

To make sure the request is yours, we first write to the account’s email address, and delete the account only once you answer that message.

We delete the account within one month of your answer and write to tell you when it is done.

What can stop a deletion

Two things stop an account from being deleted, because others depend on them. The app lists them for you.

You organize an activity that has not started yet

Its attendees are counting on it. Open it in the app and cancel it; a repeating activity can be cancelled with all its remaining dates at once. Everyone who joined is told. Without the app, say so in your email and we will cancel it for you.

You own a venue on Spotco

A claimed venue needs an owner, and the app cannot pass it to anyone else, so write to privacy@spotco.app and we will take it off your account. It goes back to “Not claimed”, so someone else from the venue can claim it, or we remove it if the venue has closed. Then you can delete your account.

What is deleted

  • Your name (it becomes “Deleted user”, also in notifications about you in other users’ Spotco inboxes; push notifications and emails already delivered cannot be changed), your profile photo (the file too), bio or organization description, Instagram name, email address, phone number and date of birth.
  • How you sign in: the link to your Apple or Google account and any password. Every phone and browser still signed in is signed out, and our log of your sign-ins is deleted. Nobody can sign in to the account again and it cannot be recovered. Your email address becomes free to sign up with again.
  • Your notifications and city alerts, the notification tokens of your phones, your notification settings, your favourite activity types and your city.
  • The organizers and cities you follow, your followers, your blocked list, your saved activities and “Join every week”.
  • Your places on activities that have not started yet (in their queues and as a co-organizer too), and requests to join that were still waiting for an answer.
  • Your place on a venue’s team, and a venue claim still waiting for a decision.
  • The documents you sent with a venue claim, and the phone number recorded with it, whatever the decision was.
  • Photos you uploaded that no activity shows.
  • Your address on our waitlist, and any booking you started on the website but did not send.

What is kept

Some of what you did on Spotco belongs to others too, so it stays, under the name “Deleted user”, with no set end date unless the line says otherwise:

  • Activities you attended, with your check-ins and no-shows, so attendee counts stay right.
  • Activities you organized, including cancelled ones, with their names, descriptions, places, photos and the messages you sent to their attendees.
  • Reviews you wrote, so organizers and venues keep their ratings.
  • Your chat messages, and chat notices that named you at the time (such as “Ola joined”), so conversations still make sense.
  • Reports you made and reports about you, because a pattern of reports is what keeps everyone safe.
  • Your reliability score and how it was reached, and any results an organizer recorded for you.
  • Venue claims that were already decided, with the decision and the note you wrote, and venues you added to Spotco, as part of the venue’s record.
  • Records of payments and wallet entries, if there were any, for as long as the law on financial records requires.

If you want us to remove something that is kept, write to privacy@spotco.app and we will look at it.
